Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Theatre, Scranton

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre is part of the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple. the building was first designed by Architect Raymond Hood with Godley & Fouilhoux and Harry V.K. Henderson. The building was designed in a unique combination of styles using both Gothic Revival and Romanesque Revival-Richardsonian Romanesque architecture with Art Deco influences. The building was originally completed in 1930 and designed to house a Scottish Rite Cathedral and a Masonic Lodge with housing spaces for public use. The Weinberg Theatre has capacity for more than 1,800 visitors and is commonly used for concerts, lectures, Broadway tours, and other forms of entertainment.
