The Erie Maritime Museum features exhibits that depict the creation of Erie Harbor beginning with the War of 1812. The museum serves as the homeport of the replica of the US Brig Niagara. The original served as a relief flagship for Oliver Hazard Perry during the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812.
