Located on Lake Erie the current North Pier Lighthouse was constructed in 1858 & further expanded in 1883. The square-pyramid design is the only surviving lighthouse of its type in the United States. It was featured by the USPS as part of a Mid-Atlantic lighthouse stamp series.
