Williamsport is the seat of Lycoming County. During the Victorian Era Williamsport was considered the "Lumber Capital" of the world & resulted in more millionaires per person than other cities. Many local lumber barons built elaborate mansions to impress and flaunt their wealth. Today, Williamsport as the home of the “Little League World Series” is known internationally & boasts many visitors to the region every summer.
