The Kiski River (short for Kiskiminetas) is a tributary of the Allegheny River & spans Armstrong County along its southern border. The Kiski is part of the 395 mile Pennsylvania Mainline Canal route, a public works project built between 1826-1834 as the first transportation link connecting Philadelphia & Pittsburgh. As a result several historical sites dating to the early 1800's can be found along the riverbank.
