During the Victorian Era Williamsport was considered the "Lumber Capital" of the world & resulted in more millionaires per person than other cities. Resident lumber barons built elaborate mansions to impress and flaunt their wealth. A vast array of architectural styles were represented including: Queen Anne, Victorian Romanesque, Second Empire and Gothic Revival. The mansions were mostly built in the late 1800's and still stand today.
