The Inclined Plane is a 896.5 foot funicular. The incline and its two stations connect the city of Johnstown. The Inclined Plane was built in 1890 and opened in 1891. It has served to evacuate residents from several of Johnstown's worst floods. It is one of the longest and steepest hoists in the world and can accommodate automobiles.
