KANE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL, UPMC

Kane Community Hospital lies on the old Campbell Farm on about 5 acres (total property about 14 acres) of land. The hospital owns two homes to the right of the hospital. The red home is physician occupied and the other is rented by EmergyCare(Kane Ambulance) Service. An outbuilding behind the hospital houses Kane Physician Practice and a newer building across from the hospital with a large parking lot. The land north and west of the new medical building is a potential development site. Wide open fields slope into the valley. More history is available upon request of Kane and the Upper Allegheny written by J.E. Henretta which describes the land, the building and dates our hospital's 1928 building. The Community Hospital of Kane opened its doors January 1, 1929. My guess is the field upon which the hospital sits (buildings/parking lots, heliport) is about 2.5 acres, the rest is field; brown and grass areas. The edges of the field are tree lined. Train tracks border the back edge of the property. The Hospital owns medical building and land at 4355 Route 6 with a large parking lot directly across the street.
