Located aproximately 30 miles northeast of Philadelphia, Newtown was founded in 1684 by William Penn. It borders a creek that flows to the Delaware River. Penn considered Philadelphia his "great town" and thus referred to Newtown as his "new town". Many colonial residences & businesses were constructed reflecting all major architectural styles. Newtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
