WARNER THEATRE, ERIE

The famed Warner Brothers studio commissioned the building of the Warner Theatre, Erie in 1929 (@ a cost of $1.5 million, this was quite extravagant for the Depression Era). Rapp & Rapp of Chicago were commissioned to design the exterior, they were known for designing some of the nation's most ornate theatres; the Art Deco interior was designed by a New York firm. Opened in April 1931, the theatre has been the venue of countless productions over the decades including: vaudeville, the Erie Philharmonic, ballet, top Broadway shows & many concerts. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
