Opened in 1926, Knoebels Amusement Park has been continuously operating for 100 years & is quite unique in not charging an admission fee. Located in a wooded enclave within Pennsylvania's Coal Region there is an attached campground. The park has a charming, old fashioned feel perhaps best depicted by its wooden Phoenix roller coaster. The Phoenix was originally constructed for a Texas park in 1947; it was subsequently moved and rebuilt at Knoebels in 1985. Featured on the Discovery Channel, Knoebles has also been ranked #2 out of its Top 10 Family Friendly Amusement Parks by the Travel Channel. The park features over 60 rides including water attractions and six roller coasters.
