CATHEDRAL OF LEARNING, INTERIOR

Soaring above the campus of the University of Pittsburgh is the 42 story, Gothic Revival style Cathedral of Learning. Founded in 1787 as the Pittsburgh Academy, Pitt as it is colloquially known became the University of Pittsburgh in 1908. A renowned research university, it is comprised of 17 undergrad and graduate schools on a campus spanning 132 acres in urban Pittsburgh.
