The historic Old Speedway Inn is located in Hopwood, Fayette County. Added onto in the late 1930's; this unique property was used as a hotel for minor league baseball teams that came to play against the local team. Along Route 40 also known as the National Highway, the Old Speedway Inn is an ideal location in a busy village. Just miles from Falling Water, Kentucky Knob & Nemocolian, the Inn has ample parking for motor coaches, and other types of vehicles. It is also within walking distance to restaurants, a post office, bank, gym, several churches & a supermarket. The first floor of the property is refurbished with the original oak woodwork including an old bandstand. There are three restrooms on the first floor and new electric breaker boxes were installed; an entrance with a ramp is in the rear of the building. On the second floor there are twelve ‘guest’ rooms and three baths (complete with old fashioned bathtubs) from the old hotel; four of these rooms have been turned into an apartment with a full kitchen. The property also includes a three bedroom, two bath house over a two car garage. The total square footage of the building is 6,074 and it sits on a lot measuring 60' X 40'.
